Ted has experience with a wide array of employee benefits matters and trust/fiduciary law matters., including qualified plan design and drafting, qualified plan correction procedures (EPCRS), prohibited transaction exemptions, collective investment funds, prototype qualified retirement plans, individual retirement accounts and health savings accounts. He also has experience with banking law, securities law and general corporate law. Ted has lectured at numerous employee benefits seminars and has published articles on employee benefits issues. Ted began practicing employee benefits law in 1984 as corporate counsel with a national pension consulting firm. Before joining Kelly, Hannaford & Battles P.A., Ted served for several years as General Counsel of U.S. Bank’s Institutional Trust & Custody Division. In 2007, Ted was named to the Advisory (Leadership) Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association Employee Benefits Section. He is also a member of the Investment Sub-Committee of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Ted is active as a youth sports coach with Woodbury Athletic Association and is a member of the Board for WAA Basketball.
