Sonja joined Dorsey & Whitney in 1992 following her graduation from Georgetown University Law Center and a clerkship for the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. She left Dorsey shortly before the birth of her younger child in 1999. Sonja resumed her employee benefits practice on a part-time basis in 2001, and worked as an outside contractor in the General Mills law department from September, 2002 to November, 2003, focusing particularly on welfare benefit plan issues. She joined KHB in November 2003. Sonja continues to focus her practice on health and welfare plan matters, including health care reform issues.
